Set in the historic grounds of Amberley Castle. Dave and Barbara were blessed with beautiful sunshine and blue skies for their wedding day. The 900 year-old castle and its 12 acres of landscaped gardens offered the perfect backdrop for their wedding day.
I started my day with a relaxing walk around the castle and its grounds, taking in the quiet and historic ambiance. I used this time to plan a short circular walk for the bride and groom portraits for later in the day: starting in the walled garden, meandering through the castle ruins, and out on the large grass lawns and down to the lake where there a couple of swans were waiting for us.
The ceremony was very intimate and held in the Charles I room, where there was a great feeling of history and importance. Afterwards the wedding party moved outside (past the resisdent albino peacock) into the garden to enjoy some champagne and sunshine. Dave and Barbara specifically requested lots of reportage style photography to document the relaxed atmosphere of their day.
Barbara looked absolutely stunning in her bejewelled dress which was set of beautifully with a fascinator her daughter had designed. Her family were all very friendly and chatted away to me, making the photography a very enjoyable process.
I wish them the very best for their future together.
