Longstowe Hall is a truly romantic wedding venue that lies hidden within ancient woodlands in Cambridge. The unspoilt countryside and gardens provided a perfect backdrop for Will and Laura’s wedding day photography, and despite a little light rain, we managed to get the entire wedding party outside for the formal group shots in between showers. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and the smiles on everyones faces showed their love and warmth towards to the newly married couple.
I have been really looking forward to photographing this wedding ever since they booked me, and even more excited to showcase the photos on my wedding blog. The groom is a good friend of mine and when I met his stunning finance Laura I knew I would thoroughly enjoy shooting their wedding and being part of the creative process to document their wedding.
My day started in the brides mother's beautiful country cottage where I was made to feel at home straight away and was able to get some great bridal preparation shots. Although we all had our fingers crossed, the weather gods were not on our side - luckily a set of see-through umbrellas had been purchased and made for some fun photographs outside the Caxton church.
Laura's dress was absolutely stunning with lace detailing and a contrast coloured long sash and accentuated her slender form beautifully. In fact everything about this wedding was gorgeous and it was a great wedding to photograph.
The celebrations continued at Longstowe Hall which was an ideal setting for a wedding in unspoilt countryside, with many photography options in the grounds of the house. The serene lake in the grounds of the Longstowe Hall was too good to miss, and I'm really glad Laura was willing to don some welly boots to combat the slight damp weather, and we were then able to get some great bride/groom portraits outside whilst the the rest of the wedding party enjoyed drinks in the marquee.
The beautiful wedding cake decorated with fresh roses, and the handmade table/place cards were lovely details and all added to the wonderful day. I wish Will and Laura every ounce of happiness and I hope you enjoy looking through a few of my favourite images from their wedding day.
